We are a large international company working on cutting edge software in the underground mining sector. You enjoy occasional travel to customer sites and internal facilities to deepen your expertise and network.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a part of the Underground Technology Global Integration Testing Team, engaging with stakeholders on schedule, process, and quality goals.

  • Oversee development of test plans for on-machine evaluation of software releases and new features

  • Management of new product integration on machines and new system deployments to the proving ground.

  • Lead a team of test engineers who’s roles are to execute Test Cases including operation of underground mining machines, autonomy systems, and technology under test at Caterpillar Proving Grounds.

  • Identification of software and system issues on machine including analysis of the related subsystems to assign corrective action tasks. Development of emergency containment actions where necessary

  • Work with subsystem teams to develop interim and permanent containment actions for issues.

  • Issue documentation, tracking and management in Azure DevOps.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, including planning of Capital Expense needs for proving grounds.

  • Occasional support in Installation and Evaluation of both on and off machine hardware systems.

  • Interface to technology product stakeholders to plan testing schedules and communicate software release plans.

  • Support Commercial Teams in Caterpillar Proving Grounds customer engagement events.

  • Support Training Teams for Dealer and Customer training programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Installation and testing of prototype mining technology hardware.

Desired Skills:

  • Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in an environment with highly functional heavy machinery.

  • Hardware in loop or real system testing experience.

  • Experience with software development tools.

  • Experience of datalink analysis.

  • Experience with Wireless Communication Networks.

  • Team leadership skills including team building.

On the Job Skills:

  • Operation of Caterpillar Machines (Both Manual and Remote Controlled)

  • Familiarization with CAT Minestar product solutions for Underground Mining.

  • Testing, Troubleshooting and data collection of Underground Mining Technology Equipment
