Job Title: Business Intelligence AnalystJob Location: London, UKJob Type: Permanent/ HybridJob Description:This position will be responsible for the elicitation, analysis, documentation and communication of Chaucer’s Business Intelligence needs and requirements. The ideal candidate will successfully perform this function by:
- Possessing working understanding of Business Intelligence systems, business operations, and processes to effectively elicit and analyse customer requirements, develop specifications, business and technical use cases, document data flows and ensure user readiness
- Accurately documenting business requirements and other required technology aspects that will be used to maintain or produce Business Intelligence solutions
- Providing support for the management and performance of the projects in which the BIA is involved and highlight any deviation to their manager in the first instance
- Working as a collaborative team player in an Agile/Scrum development environment
MAIN DUTIES
- Assist in the adoption and promotion of the BI strategy ensuring that it remains central to decisions made on change initiatives. Actively flag any deviation from the strategy to the wider BI team and assist in the strategies upkeep by making recommendation for improvement
- Work within a project environment to deliver strategic, transformational change
- Plan and organise requirements solicitation sessions through interview, workshops and shadowing with business users. Analyse findings and translate requirements into functional specifications, data/report specifications and implementation plan
- Produce wireframe and prototypes to demonstrate and playback requirements to business teams
- Produce user guides and assist with rolling out training
- Maintain supporting documentation such as data dictionaries
- Investigate and Analyse data assets and liaise with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs
- Work with developers to ensure clear understanding of objectives and ensure design meets requirements
- Support the test teams in translating functional specifications into test scenarios and assist in the execution of test plans
- Support other business intelligence members as and when required in regard to project duties
- Establish relationships throughout the business to ensure excellent information flow and feedback on impacts of process, policy and system changes
- Participate in Scrum team activities, including Daily stand-up, product grooming and show & tell sessions
ROLE REQUIREMENTSRELEVANT EXPERIENCEEssential
- Experienced in a business intelligence or business analysis role in financial services, preferably London Insurance Market. Experience of data transformation projects. Practical experience of project methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
Desirable
- Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with key business areas including, but not exclusively the underwriting, actuarial and finance teams.
