Legal Counsel (Technology)
£115,000 – £125,000
Are you a skilled legal professional with a passion for technology and innovation? My client is seeking a mid-level legal counsel (solicitor or barrister) to join their team and provide high-quality legal advice and support across a spectrum of commercial and technology matters.
Strategic Focus
- Provide legal analysis and support for products, technology infrastructure, and emerging technologies such as DLT, digital assets, and artificial intelligence.
- Advise on commercial technology contracts and engage with external legal advisors globally.
- Monitor regulatory changes, especially in the EU and UK post-Brexit, and engage with global regulators.
- Contribute to regulatory and legal letters and consultations, providing thought leadership on emerging technologies.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and manage legal risks within acceptable tolerances.
- Assist in drafting amendments to documents and facilitate cross-divisional working groups to analyze regulatory changes.
- Present recommendations to governance committees and collaborate with vendor management on commercial contracts.
Leadership Attributes
- Prioritize effectively and escalate issues when necessary.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate with stakeholders, including regulators.
- Demonstrate accountability, integrity, and authenticity.
- Apply legal knowledge to advance goals and manage complexity.
Qualifications
- Qualified UK lawyer with a current practicing certificate (solicitor or barrister).
- Strong academic background in law.
- Experience in technology-focused legal areas, with knowledge of intellectual property, data privacy, and emerging technology legislation.
