In person training and mentorship
MiCT is seeking an experienced Video/Audio/Photography trainer to train a group of fellow journalists participating in the critical voices project hub in Tunis. MiCT invites interested and qualified persons to submit proposals by 23/10/2024.
1. Introducing MICT:
Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision and agility.
Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies that thrive.
Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, programme and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to supporting the financial viability of our partners.
2. The Program:
The MiCT Critical Voices Fellowship is aimed at media professionals from war and crisis regions who share a common value in their professional journalistic integrity. The program is currently focused on journalists and media makers from the MENA region, Afghanistan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Myanmar. Fellows receive expert safety advice, online & in person training, legal advice, psycho-social support, production support, and access to a global community of like-minded media professionals.
3. Description of the role:
To support the Fellow’s professional careers, MiCT is looking for a trainer that can provide in person training for up to 3 days in Tunis, and mentorship for individual projects if required, over a 2 week period.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Provide a curriculum development / training material.
- provide an in-person training on filming and editing short videos using professional tools and applications.
- provide an in-person training on photography and storytelling by photos using professional tools and applications.
- Availability to follow up with fellows who would conduct individual projects after the training for up to two weeks after the training, including 1 – 1 consultancy sessions.
- Submit a final report to the project team outlining the progress made, content covered, outcomes, engagement and lessons learnt from the training.
Application Requirements:
Successful applicants should be able to provide proof of the following:
- Proven experience in audio/visual media production.
- Proven Experience in media training and mentoring.
- To be based in Tunisia.
- Excellent communication skills, well-organized with good time management skills.
- Thorough understanding of journalism ethics.
- Fluency in Arabic language is required.
- Flexible availability to work with Fellows in the period of October-December 2024.
