We offer one of our industry’s most innovative portfolio of products, services and technologies that serve to prevent, treat, and control diseases across all major farm and companion animal species.Reporting into the Veterinary Science Advisor Companion Animal Health you will provide veterinary expertise on all aspects of the company’s companion animal products and product markets in the field and, in doing so, to actively contribute to product development, marketing and sales support within Belgium. The emphasis in this role will be towards field-based sales team support but specific focus around the strategic development of key product areas will also be expected.Primary responsibilitiesAs a Veterinary Science Liaison you have to combine an in-depth knowledge of the company’s animal health portfolio with sound technical principles to innovate and develop and support key account businesses with complimentary initiatives that add real value.To regularly liaise with practices working in close collaboration to actively support the sales/ key accounts team and identify and develop technical opportunities for adding value to our offering to our partnership with these practices (approx. 20% of role);To inform and develop key opinion leaders in universities, private and corporate practices and other institutions in the region, allowing identification and development of opportunities for beneficial co-operation (approx. 10% role);To actively support the sales manager and his/ her teams by being a key point of contact for complex technical queries, training and support (approx.. 15% of role) and to feedback relevant technical & marketing intelligence to head office teams;To service any small animal technical queries or complaints in order that the company may provide a high quality, professional veterinary sales support for its products. (approx. 20% role);To actively work with the business unit to provide specialist veterinary technical input in respect of the small animal product market in order that the company can develop the optimum marketing strategy (approx. 20% role);To provide the company with comprehensive in-house technical training at various levels to ensure that all staff that require it are correctly trained on the small animal products and markets (approx.10% role);To recommend and, if agreed to, design and manage the implementation of any field trials or investigations to quantify the value of potential new indications for the company’s products and to quantify the performance of the company’s products relative to any competitor products;To generate and present written and verbal technical information for publication or presentation at meetings at various levels. In addition, to provide a company technical representation at relevant meetings, congresses and exhibitions in order to promote the interests of the company amongst key industry influencers and opinion makers and to enhance the company brand profile in the industry.All marketing and technical activities (and relevant field trials) in respect of both new and existing products are planned, organised and controlled by various project groups. The project manager is elected by the group and may be a Veterinary Science Liaison, who will then be responsible for ensuring that the group meets its targets. Projects will usually be between six months and three years’ durationIn the fulfillment of these roles it is expected that duties will require a reasonable level of attendance at evening and weekend meetings which may in some circumstances require overnight stays away from home.Extend of travelThe role will be executed for the Belgian market (Dutch and French speaking areas). There will also be an expectation to provide backup cover for the other veterinary colleagues and the rest of the Companion Animal Health technical team. Travel throughout Belgium and occasionally abroad will be expected as part of this and also to follow up with projects which fall within the technical scope of the role.Your profileA Belgian-recognized academic veterinary degree;At least 2-3 years of Belgian veterinary practice experience;Excellent client-facing skills, both verbally and in writing;Sound time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure;Ability to prioritize and handle confidential issues;Tact and diplomacy and attention to detail;Persuasive and able to successfully influence others;Ability to operate and communicate effectively at various levels, both within and outside of the company;Ability to identify and exploit new business opportunities;Energetic and resourceful with the ability to initiate and manage change;Team player;Strong oral and written communication skills in French, Dutch and English.We offerWe welcome you to a truly global, dynamic and challenging environment with great opportunities for personal development.
