US Reimbursement and Policy Strategist – Remote

About the Role: We are looking for a US Reimbursement and Policy Strategist to join our Global Health Economics and Reimbursement team to execute reimbursement strategies to ensure optimal coding, coverage, payment, and policy for current and emerging technologies.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona, hybrid or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute strategies to optimize coding, coverage, and payment to support adoption of products in the US healthcare market
  • Create and update reimbursement resources for Gore medical products including coding guides, reimbursement calculators and sales enablement tools
  • Track and analyze health policy updates impacting current products and emerging technologies; develop insights and communications to inform both internal and external stakeholders
  • Thoroughly research, create, and deliver presentations on the US reimbursement system to cross functional teams including sales and marketing
  • Provide input for economic studies with knowledge of coding and claims databases
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and reimbursement
  • Prepare reimbursement applications for payment and coverage (CPT coding, New Technology Add-On Payments, Pass-Through Payments, etc.)
  • Monitor payer coverage landscape and engage with third-party payers to address limitations on coverage for procedures utilizing Gore technologies
  • Define clinical and economic evidence needed for coding, coverage, and payment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to support strategic initiatives related to health economic research, health policy and business development

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in health economics and reimbursement within the medical device industry, trade associations, government Agencies, consulting firms, and/or providers
  • Experience analyzing federal healthcare regulations, including Medicare reimbursement policy processes through annual rulemaking
  • Strong understanding of coding, coverage, and payment methodologies in the US, including hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient, ambulatory surgery center and physician reimbursement
  • Strong working knowledge and skill with all MS Office-based applications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both virtually and in person
  • Ability to travel 25%

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Health Economics, Health Policy, Business Management, Nursing, or a related business/ clinical discipline
  • Understanding of vascular, cardiology, and general surgery coding nomenclature

Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore’s remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
