We are looking for a talented individual to join Aviva’s Operations Team in our Cork office. If you are looking to start a career in the industry or have some insurance experience, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you. 

Our Operations Team supports several people across the organisation in our General Insurance business. You will receive tailored induction training and ongoing support throughout your career. 

If you are keen to learn about commercial insurance, you will gain exposure to our commercial underwriting business. If you are ambitious, this role can lead to becoming a Commercial Underwriter. This career path can lead to developing technical expertise as well as other professional skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing various inputs to support completing quotations as received. 
  • Processing decision outcomes as advised by colleagues.
  • Working closely with your colleagues to support their requirements. 
  • Following through on requests from the team. 
  • Managing and following up on reminders for outstanding information. 
  • Being curious to understand the requests from the team.
  • Complete tasks to high levels of accuracy with good attention to detail.
  • Be flexible with a willingness to learn and develop. 
  • Contributing to a positive culture of teamwork.

Skills & Experiences:

  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of the team.
  • Have a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Some influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Focussed and results orientated.
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Property/Liability/Motor underwriting experience or an interest in pursuing a career in underwriting is an advantage.
