This role is an onsite role, based at our Ballymount Studios, hours are variable.Specific Duties & Tasks:Coordinate the daily logistics of the Transmission and Compliance teamsParticipate in strategic business roadmap for Transmission and Programme Compliance and lead the project implementation to deliver the planResolve technical issues in collaboration with VMIE Tech Solutions, VMIE Network Teams and external stakeholdersLead all systems maintenance upgrades/changes in line with agreed business processes; creating technical change requests/tickets; collaborating with effected Broadcast Services teams; coordinate works and maintain technical recordsMaintain comprehensive records for Transmission hardware and software, including EOL and EOS information and submit annual capex requests when requiredActively seek to reduce on-air errors through improvements in BAU workflows across the TX and Compliance teamsEnsure up to date training guides and user manuals are maintainedProvide a leadership support to the TX & Compliance Supervisors and empower them to achieve their goals/PDPsConduct regular 1:1s and quarterly Connected Conversations and team meetingsExplore opportunities for improved ways of working and automationManage rosters including holiday and absence. Undertake the accurate reporting of staff expenses, toil, overtime sign off and related cost centre managementCommunicate effectively and efficiently with the business while ascertaining the key impact and detail behind the issue/requestBuild connections and maintain good working relationships with inter-departmental teams and with our external stakeholdersThe above list is not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform duties as necessitated by your changing role and the overall business objectives of the Company, as directedSkills & Expertise:Minimum of 5 years experience in broadcast environmentKnowledge of Transmission Automation SystemsKnowledge of network systems, file formats and codecsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionallySolid experience with Quality Control in relation to audio and video for transmission outputBudget management and project planningThe Person:Excellent leadership and organisational abilitiesExceptional attention to detailStrategic thinking, problem solving and planning aptitudeExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsThe ability to work under one’s own initiative and as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace changeVirgin Media is an equal opportunities employer.
