Offer DescriptionOffer DescriptionContextIn the framework of the research project BatFactory (Belgian ERDF research program in Wallonia), two post-doctoral positions of two years are available in our group in the field of nanomaterials synthesis for lithium (sodium and other kinds of) batteries.Job descriptionThses two post-doctoral research programs will start by the collaborative computer-guided development of new electrode materials synthesis in laboratory followed by their synthesis in large scale via more economical processes with low environmental impact. These materials will be selected in a concerted theory-experiment approach where theoretical calculations will make it possible to determine the expected mechanical stability. The newly synthesized electrode materials will be tested in real lithium ions batteries. These two post-doctoral researchers will work in close collaboration on different electrode materials with different approaches. Part of these post-doctoral research programs will be done in collaboration with theoretical research group at the chemistry department.The successful candidate will be strongly involved in nanomaterials synthesis, lithium (sodium or other kinds of) batteries, and characterizations by different techniques such as in situ solid state NMR spectrometry and electrochemical techniques. The candidates should have good experience in the puce cell assembly and have good skills in the characterization techniques.Where to applyE-mailRequirementsResearch Field ChemistryEducation Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe ideal candidate is a highly talented and motivated researcher who received his PhD less than two years in materials synthesis for lithium (sodium and other kinds of) batteries or in electrochemistry with a good formation in nanomaterials. Very good knowledge and excellent experimental skills in preparative techniques such as hydrothermal, mecanosynthesis, plasma-assisted, … and structural characterization of materials (XRD, SEM, TEM, SECM,…) is expected. Excellent communication ability in English (written and oral).
