Transport PlannerOur Client is looking to expand its logistics team by hiring a Transport Planner to optimize and manage their transport operations.Responsibilities:Develop and implement transport schedules for the delivery of product to customers.Plan and optimize routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.Ensure effective utilization of fleet resources, including trucks and drivers.Ensure all vehicles are maintained and compliant with regulations.Track and monitor the performance of drivers, ensuring safe and efficient driving practices.Ensure clear communication regarding delivery schedules, delays, and any changes to plans.Work closely with the customer service team to resolve delivery issues and respond to customer queries related to transportation.Ensure all transportation operations comply with Irish road transport regulations, environmental laws, and health and safety standards.Monitor and maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and deliveries in line with legal and company requirements.Conduct regular audits to ensure the adherence to transport and safety policies.Monitor transportation costs and work towards improving cost-efficiency without compromising quality or service.Produce regular reports on transport activities, delivery performance, and fleet utilization.Qualifications and Skills:A relevant degree or qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a transport planning or logistics role, preferably in the construction or manufacturing sector.Proficient in transport management software and MS Office Suite; experience with route optimization tools is a plus.Strong understanding of Irish transport regulations, health and safety compliance, and vehicle maintenance.Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate and liaise effectively with different stakeholders.
