Leads an Affiliate Medical Sub-Team in defined therapeutic area(s) (TA), drives the respective strategy and manages the defined portfolio according to set goals
Has Medical Advisor responsibility for defined products/assets
Responsibilities
Development and execution of medical plans as integral part of the x-functional brand plans in the defined TA
Development and execution of territory plans and tactics for interactions with Scientific Experts and other relevant stakeholders, organizations and institutions
Collection & processing of customer insights into x-functional account / team plans & analyses
Planning and management of resources and budget, incl. forecast accuracy, within area of responsibility
Partnering with the Business Unit & VA&P for all product lifecycle management activities
Functional and x-functional collaboration and coordination on local level and beyond the affiliate
Hiring, coaching, mentoring and developing of team members
Use of respective dashboards and tools to evaluate performance of the team
Support of GSO clinical study activities & coordination of local data generation activities in the defined TA
Ensure teams’ compliance with all relevant internal processes as well as internal and external laws and regulations
Authority
Direction, activities, and resource allocation within defined TA
Authority aligned with relevant SOPs and manuals
Expenditure as per grade level
Outputs
Medical contribution to affiliate lifecycle management plans in defined TA
Medical goals, objectives and performance evaluation in defined TA/Team
Medical Advisor tasks for defined products/assets
Qualifications
Degree in Health or Natural Sciences (e.g. PhD, MSc, MD)
Relevant experience in Medical Affairs
Preferred Requirements
Sound understanding of resourcing and budgeting
Team or project leadership experience
Experience in mentoring / coaching
Medical knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area
Experience in the conduct of scientific research, interpretation and communication of scientific results and publications
Experience & networks beyond the affiliate
Sound understanding of the country local health care system
Knowledge of all relevant regulations and codes
Fluent in Dutch or French and English
Sound understanding of drug commercialization and business practices
