ALNAP is commissioning a thematic study exploring the impacts of funding cuts on humanitarian action, with a focus on prioritisation decisions made by humanitarian actors. This study is part of the State of the Humanitarian System 2026 research programme.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting qualitative research in crisis-affected contexts to gather data and insights.
- Engaging with humanitarian actors to understand funding allocation and prioritisation.
- Analysing and presenting findings on the consequences of funding cuts and prioritisation decisions.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Extensive experience working in crisis-affected contexts and engaging with humanitarian actors.
- Strong understanding of recent trends in humanitarian financing and prioritisation.
- Proven ability to conduct rigorous research and synthesise actionable insights.
Proposal:
Proposals should include:
- Draft method/approach that outlines which questions would be focused on, and how questions will be answered
- Explanation of applicants’ suitability for the role, in particular focusing on relevant prior experience collecting similar data at country level or engaging in needs-based decision-making processes
- Day rate and budget, including indicative costs for travel if applicable. Please do not include any communications/publications budget costs as these are covered by ALNAP independently of the contract
