What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Reporting to the Technical department manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing Technical change projects that improve department efficiency and capability and serve the needs of the business. This new role is a senior position within the Technical department and suitable candidates will be skilled in effective leadership, planning, investigation and communication. You will also be responsible for interfacing with R & D, Site and Division Technical and Engineering, Site and Division Quality Assurance in order to represent the site from a technical standpoint in meeting daily as well as long range commitments.Major ResponsibilitiesOversee cross-functional teams in the development of technical change projects from concept to completion in programs that are complex and require the management of intra- and inter-company elements and relationships.Responsible for achieving the project/programs financial targets in support of the business objectives.Controls budgets to meet authorized funding, as agreed by management.Analyses complex processes and problems and identify areas of improvement and riskAct as a trusted advisor within the Technical Department and balance bottom line objectives with long-term interests of the businessMay oversee the work of others and provide mentoring in technical or organizational areasMay assign work to team and/or project membersEnsure prompt attention of the relevant department Manager in areas of risk, which might have an adverse effect on product and/or safety.Education and Years of ExperienceA relevant third level qualification in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science or equivalent related discipline is preferred15 years previous experience in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment preferred.Technical Operations Supervisory experience preferred.Skilled in effective management, planning, investigation and communicationStrong Technical decision making and problem-solving skills, demonstrated good judgement.What are the benefits and perks of this job at Abbott Donegal?Health Insurance for you and your familyPensionLife insuranceShort Term Disability ProtectionLong Term Disability ProtectionCarers leaveEducation AssistanceThe base pay for this position is N/AIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.JOB FAMILY: EngineeringDIVISION: ADC Diabetes CareLOCATION: Ireland
