The Alternative Assets team works to provide value to clients through investment in assets outside the traditional realm of stocks, bonds, and cash. This involves the coordination of various teams, the servicing of clients and fund managers, and the application of Northern Trust’s information management system.This recruitment campaign represents the first hire for a newly established Private Equity presence in EMEA for Alternative Investments. A significant degree of independent thought and pro active characteristics are required for successful fulfilment of the role.The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Reconciling quarterly and monthly valuations provided by the general partnerships against Northern Trust’s information management system
  • Pulling and interpreting data, and preparing analysis with a view to ensuring client valuation expectations are met
  • Manage assigned daily tasks to ensure day-to-day deliverables are met
  • Consistently review and assess processes to identify improvements for increased team efficiency
  • Balance use of initiative with the referral of more complex problems to supervisors and internal experts
  • Research and update client investments with the correct and most current market value
  • Respond to inquiries and questions from internal and external partners providing guidance and solutions
  • Work efficiently and effectively under time-sensitive constraints, in a team-oriented environment
  • Actively participate in department projects and initiatives

Skills/Qualifications:The Alternative Asset servicing team operate in a dynamic, time-bound and client focused work environment.The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Significant experience working within Asset Servicing or Custody environment
  • Knowledge of utilising swift network and technicalities of remitting funds (capital calls, cash distributions)
  • Track record of building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships at all levels across the organisation and also externally to clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultancy skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with local & global partners to ensure service delivery within strict deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and be creative within the role
  • Experience gained working within the alternative funds industry and in particular private equity an advantage
