This position can be based in either our Dublin office.The Technical Accounting team is responsible for the end-to-end accounting activities, including the booking and settling of cedant accounts. The team delivers accurate technical financial data which is used downstream by other functions for financial accounting, actuarial studies, and financial and management reporting.About the role:In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting activities for Life & Health treaties and will be required to interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a deep understanding of complex reinsurance agreements and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both external clients and internal stakeholders.Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse accounts received from cedants against contractual terms.
  • Review, process, and book accounts in the Reinsurance tool, including error investigation and account reconciliation.
  • Settle and follow up on outstanding balances with cedants.
  • Contribute to quarterly closing activities and ensure compliance with SOX and operational controls by adhering to established quality and process standards.
  • Co-ordinate with cedants on accounting related issues including errors and / or delays.
  • Work with various stakeholders to provide accurate technical financial data.
  • Participate in projects or other ad hoc duties as assigned.

QualificationsAbout you:You are a dynamic professional with a background in reinsurance, specializing in Life & Health. You excel in communication and problem solving and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

  • 2-5 years of work experience in a similar role in Life & Health re/insurance or broker company.
  • Strong reinsurance technical accounting expertise, with a thorough understanding of the end-to-end process of reinsurance operations.
  • Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Business or related fields is required.
  • Strong passion for data analysis, with the ability to perform trend analysis and review insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Power BI or R is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written), knowledge of additional European language is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact and communicate across all levels.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
