It is also a complex PRU; catering for a number of specific groups of young people including a Hospital Education Unit, Home Tuition Service and an Outreach Inclusion Support Team for the local Primary and all-through schools.We wish to appoint experienced and motivational teacher to teach Combined Science up to GCSE level, and lead the improvement of the subject areas throughout the school. You will be required to have a history of good to outstanding record of managing pupils with SEMH and ensuring good progress.We offer a range of educational programmes for young people with SEMH needs who have been permanently excluded, are at risk of permanent exclusion and those who are vulnerable or have medical needs. Our aim is to remove barriers to learning through an individualised response to our pupils’ needs and thus maintain their continuity of education.About youThe ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience, ideally, of working in a PRU, EOTAS or Alternative Provision (though mainstream experience only would be considered) with learners with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs or SEND.
  • Have a passion for their specific area and be committed to achieving high standards in their work and high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Be flexible, cheerful and enjoy working with children, parents and staff.
  • Be able and willing to form a positive relationship with pupils in order to support their personal and social development in accordance with the school’s guideline
  • Be consistent, calm and a reflective practitioner with a growth mind-set
  • Be able to deliver Quality 1st teaching
