We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse – Non Medical Prescriber to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough.HMP Five Wells is a male resettlement prison with a capacity of 1750 inmates.HoursMonday – FridaySalaryThis position is full time you’ll receive an annual salary up to £53,077 per annum FTE – depending on experience.How will we support you?

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksWhat you’ll be doingAs a Substance Misuse Non – Medical Prescriber, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Undertakes Clinical Nursing Practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care to patients
  • Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
  • To provide treatment as required, including prescribing medication, within their sphere of competence.
  • To carry out comprehensive assessments of patients looked after.
  • To provide advice/support in relation to crisis situations, conditions, and treatment plans, based on medical and treatment history.
  • To carry out a clinical review with the patient and update care plans accordingly

  • Registered professional with current active registration (NMC, GPHC, HCPC)
  • BSc or equivalent qualification
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including , Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework
  • Knowledge of national standards that inform practice (eg National Service Frameworks, NICE guidelines etc)
