Description of Work 

The Studio/Remote Production Supervisor oversees a skilled full-time production crew during TV studio and remote location multi-camera productions. Responsibilities include operating and setting up Grass Valley video production switchers, providing direction, and making decisions based on technical workflows required for shows. The role involves directing most OB/Remote live multi-camera productions and the more complex live and recorded multi-camera studio productions. Additionally, the position provides guidance to the control room team during technical checks and rehearsals and trains technical directors in all aspects of switchers while mentoring aspiring directors.

The role involves actively gathering and disseminating information with producers and directors to identify special needs for each studio/remote production from conception through pre-production, setup, live production, and strike. After gathering the necessary information, the position evaluates and determines equipment needs/placement, production needs, budgetary concerns, and training opportunities to build a broader experience base.

Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, mass communications, or a related field plus five years TV production remote and/or studio experience. Experience in location and studio camera operation. Understanding of production lighting and graphics. Ability to interact with producers, good communication skills, scheduling experience, supervisory abilities.

Preferred QualificationsSupervisory experience preferred. TV multi-camera directing skills, computer based business systems and scheduling skills.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.

Posted Salary $27.404/hr. minimum
