This position offers you the opportunity to manage your own projects in complete autonomy across Europe. Whether it is boutiques, corners, travel retail or specific projects, you will be the conductor, orchestrating the various stakeholders that you have carefully selected.This role will be based in London with an immediate start.Please submit your portfolio with your application (PDF Format, 5 Mo max)MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESProject ManagementProject manage creative solutions for street and shopping mall retail stores and also department storesProject manage creative solutions for specialised projects including office spaces, temporary stores and projects in collaboration with other departmentsDemonstrate exceptional multi-tasking skills, in order to bring multiple creative solutions to fruition and within expected timeframesManage the expectations of key stakeholders for each project – including design and commercial expectations.Lead project management of stores and special projects that are assigned to an In-House or external ArchitectSurvey prospective locations, providing architectural and construction feedback to Aesop HO and also external Architects when neededParticipate in site handover along with Retail Property Manager and conduct an historical research on the buildingMonitor budgets and construction schedules carefully using appropriate tools to acheive the objectivesDrafting, review and approving of design & construction contractsOrganise permitting, engineering and all other external services required for building and occupancy permitsConduct internal review (post opening) on projects outlining successes and areas of development with regards to all aspects of the project – sharing this with the wider teamLiaise with all external consultants and contractors involved on a project – e.g. Lighting consultants, engineers, building surveyors, etcPrepare all appropriate contracts (design, construction, consultants, engineers..)Procure Aesop supplied fixtures and fittings relative to each projectBe responsible for the budget and timing of the projects designed by our In-House Architect or External Architect, make a precise schedule to ensure deliverables and key steps of the projects are carefully respectedQuantity surveyor skills, be capable to forecast what financial resources will be needed to complete a project and issue a clear budget recapValue engineering skills, understand the specificities of the project, be able to negotiate the quotes down by sourcing alternative materials, simpler solutions…Source samples and demonstrate an appetite for innovation, research, trial…Construction ManagementAttend site handover meetings, to ensure that conditions are as per signed Aesop lease agreementTender out assigned projects to builders and negotiate through the pricing processReview shop drawings and ensure these are as per documentation approved by AesopConduct factory and local site visits to monitor ongoing quality and report progress back to HO.Accept completed store from external construction team and complete detailed build defects listLead rectification process of all build defects, ensuring these are completed in a timely mannerStore Maintenance & Small WorksDesign and document thoughtful and practical small-scope solutions in response to retail and maintenance needsReporting & CommunicationMonitor total CAPEX spend for projects with weekly reporting backMonitor timings of projects, ensuring these are running to schedule – reporting backCommunicating and project progress and outcomesManage internal stakeholder expectations with regards to assigned projectsMaintain interest and knowledge in the skin care, product and retail industriesCapacitySeek partnership and long lasting relationship with local General Contractors to develop Aesop’s network of contractorsFrequent travel expected throughout EuropeBe autonomous, proactive, efficient.
