Job description

The participant will receive excellent on the job training in a busy retail environment this generates good work ethics and helps strengthen the participant’s personal and interpersonal skills by engaging with the public. This also helps build confidence and self-esteem. The participant will assist and learn in the following: – Preparing and pricing stock. – Merchandising. – Induction in health and safety in the workplace. – Meet and greet customers and assisting with advice on queries. – Stock control.Role Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: Formal Training: – Stock Control – Merchandising – WPEP QQI Work experience module and will be supported in any other certified training required. Informal Training: – Experience and training in Logistics – Time management – Stock taking – Communication skills – Teamwork – Adaptability/Problem Solving – Customer service – Health and Safety including hazard awareness
