Sr Director, Investment Services (Wealth & Asset Management) Analyst (Remote- US & Remote-Canada)

What you will do:

• Create high-quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” content based on research best practices and methodologies in financial services in the topic of Investment Services (Wealth and Asset Management) sector including technology providers, consultants, and investors. Specific focus areas will include strategy, business value, best practices, market trends, technologies and vendors of our target audience including CIOs and product leaders at vendors.
• Broad spectrum of the market, and produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically-deep, fact-based research.
• Serving as an authority on Investment Services optimization, modernization, and transformation
• Creating both provocative and pragmatic “must have” thought provoking research and advice on best and emerging practices for CIOs, IT and Line of Business (LOB) leaders and vendors alike to support the digital transformation in the Investment Services area of their institution
• Supporting our sales and client service teams in delivering insight to clients and prospects. Presenting on wealth and asset Management research and related thought leadership in one-to-one and one-to-many forums, including client presentations and Gartner events
• Build your personal brand as a functional expert to drive Gartner’s research, methodology and strategy
• Provide high-quality and timely research peer review. Provide mentorship and support to team members.
• Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the financial services research community.

What are we looking for:

• Gartner is looking for a Senior Director Analyst to provide research and advisory to CIOs, Line of Business (LOB) and Senior IT leaders in the Wealth & Asset Management industry globally, and to key roles in Vendors selling to Wealth and Asset Management Organizations and Divisions. Your experience will include strategic planning and execution of major business and technology initiatives for Wealth & Asset Managers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant field or industry experience at a wealth or asset management firm or division, technology firm that serves this audience or technology analyst firm. Gartner is looking for expertise in Front or Back Office needs of Wealth and Asset Managers. This includes strategies, workflows and models related to advice delivery, portfolio construction, distribution, customer interaction, and more.
• Familiarity with the technologies that power the investment services industry, such as core accounting systems (Trust Platforms, Brokerage Systems, Managed Account Platforms, Retirement Record Keeping Platforms, etc.), advisor desktop tools (Financial Planning, Portfolio Management, CRM, etc.), Client Experience Tools (Client Portals, Mobile Apps, CLM systems, Onboarding Solutions, etc.)
• A background in or understanding of Vendor selection of applications from providers like Envestnet, FIS, InvestCloud, Temenos, Avaloq, Objectway, Broadridge, SEI, FNZ, Morningstar, Salesforce, Bloomberg and others. A knowledge of implementing important technologies such as AI, APIs, cloud, digital platforms, or data management is a plus.
• Experience in working in AI/ML teams at Asset management or wealth management firm or exposure through working with vendors aligned to asset or wealth management firms with increasing scope and responsibility is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
• Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
• Moderate willingness to travel; though primarily a virtual role, Analysts occasionally have opportunities for domestic and international travel.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 150,000 USD – 190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
