Software Engineer Intern, 2024 / 2025 Summer Internship – Australia

The Mastercard Intern Program is a comprehensive program where students will gain hands on real work-life skills while having fun and contributing to a global company. As an intern, you will be challenged with completing projects that will enhance your skills as well as contribute to the department’s goals and objectives.

Job Description:

• Partner collaboratively with team managers and software developers to create a dashboard for code insights

• Automate metrics generation using Jira data

• Communicate across key stakeholders on work progress and provide regular updates

• Perform desktop research to identify regional or global trends and develop key performance metrics and reporting

• Assist with ad hoc requests, participate in special projects as required, and provide cross-functional support as needed

• Analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills

• Strategic thinker with ability to derive and translate data analytics to meet business goals

• Sound written and verbal communication skills

• Project management skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Must be able to work independently in developing and mapping out solutions

• Must be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, handle multiple tasks, consistently meet established deadlines, and deliver exceptional results

• Expert PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; programming and coding skills including Jira

• Experience with Tableau, Domo, or other comparable business intelligence tools

• Understanding of risk management disciplines

Requirements

• Final year Bachelors students with expected graduation from June 2025 – Dec 2025

• Able to commit to internship period from 2 Dec 2024 to 31 Jan 2025 (Note: start/end dates cannot be negotiated).

• Degree major in Information Technology, Computer Science or IT Engineering degree preferred

• Willingness to collaborate and learn, curious mind-set

• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
