Software Engineer

The Azure Growth team builds the experiences that enables customers to start, estimate and track their Microsoft Azure journey through Azure signup, resource creation and resource optimizations. We are looking for a Software Engineer with full stack developer talents who can help build frontend and backend experiences for complex large-scale web applications. The ideal candidate has outstanding design and coding skills, the passion to tackle challenging web-design and system design problems, and a deep desire to create breathtaking user experiences with courage.

• Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
• Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
• With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
• Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
• Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.

You need to be legally authorised to work in Ireland for this role – Legally authorised = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with frontend development (e.g. React, Knockout, Angular).
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and large language models (LLMs) such as GPT or Claude Sonnet.
• Proficiency designing, developing, and shipping software solutions on a Cloud services platform (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud etc.)
• Experience building and working with scalable Web Services and REST APIs.
