The warehouse is automated and advanced with 200 people working in it and it operates 24/7.Key Responsibilities:

• To play a mentoring role in a dynamic Engineering team delivering daily support to the Operations team and wider business group
• To work with multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), running 7 sites.
• Work with the vendor helpdesk function, ticket management and reporting, to deliver best in class service to the business in order to minimize the impact of downtime to daily operations.
• To identify opportunities to improve the processes and systems that drive the day to day operation in the primary distribution facilities
• The role will be centered on providing continuous improvement and process optimization throughout the warehouse
• To work on high profile Capex and continuous improvement projects as part of multi- discipline teams
• Develop an expertise in fundamental processes within the integrated warehouse management system and automated picking system
• Develop an expertise on how this system is integrated with a state of the art ERP system (SAP), as well as the ASRS (automated storage and retrieval system – and Miniload systems.
• Support the operations daily sustaining activities, ensure that the WMS performs to, and exceeds established targets
• Support the business in all testing activities on the test WMS.
• Understand, analyse and eliminate reoccurring faults or bugs on the WMS
• Liaise with facilities team on reoccurring mechanical or electrical issues on the automated crane and conveyor system.
• Identify potential improvements to the WMS and associated processes.
• Business and operational analysis (Capacity, efficiency, performance, etc)

Qualifications:

• Minimum Honors Degree in an Engineering discipline with 4-5 years prior process engineering experience
• 1-2 years team leading / management / mentoring people
• Experience in the Pharma/consumer goods/consumer good sectors or similar i.e. a distribution or manufacturing environment
• Lean six sigma qualification an advantage
• Results orientated – must be able to bring projects to completion
• Strong numerical & analytical skills and the ability to learn new systems quicklyEnthusiasm and willingness to get involved in all areas of Engineering, Facilities & operations
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Candidate must be team orientated with the ability to work in cross-functional teams to accomplish goals set by the business.
