Position: Senior to Associate level Fire EngineerLocation: Glasgow preferably (Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool are explorable options)Employment Type: Full-time (flexibility & hybrid options available)Package: GBP 70k – 95k+ as a base salary, depending on experience + performance-based bonusRole Overview:Our UK client is looking for a Senior to Associate level Fire Engineer to join them and run their operations in the North!Ideally, this engineer is an autonomous, driven individual and looking for a step-up to run an office of their own. The engineer who fills this position should have a wealth of experience in delivering projects, winning work, mentoring younger engineers, managing financial & commercials aspects of projects etc. This person needs to be able to hit the ground running.Our client has all the resources and tools to help you succeed along the way and they are committed to you long-term.VISA Sponsorship is available, if required.Experience Required:
- Over 5 years of strong fire engineering experience in a consultancy setting.
- Proven expertise in designing fire strategies and engineering solutions for a variety of building types, including residential, educational, commercial, cultural, and university buildings, while meeting clients’ visions and tight submission deadlines.
- Skilled in preparing technical reports for submission to Building Control and Fire Service authorities. Ability to review technical information to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and fire strategy requirements.
- Experience creating technical mark-up drawings to guide design teams.
- Proficient in CFD modeling for smoke control systems.
- Experience attending meetings with clients, design teams, and Fire and Rescue Services.
- Proven ability to manage the technical, commercial, and professional development of graduate engineers, supporting them in achieving their career goals.
Desired:
- Familiarity with British standards and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop fire strategies from first principles.
- Currently pursuing or holding Chartered Status or relevant professional registration/qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Develop fire strategy reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide fire engineering support across a diverse range of construction projects.
- Conduct fire safety assessments and risk analyses.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, while collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications Required:
- A BSc or MSc in Fire Engineering, Mechanical, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
