We are seeking an experienced professional to lead on sustainability in our production department across a global supply chain.As a Senior Sustainability Production Manager, you will be the go-to expert on sustainability, both internally and externally. Your role will involve championing sustainability initiatives, empowering production, and other teams, to make better informed decisions, ensuring the business is compliant with current and forthcoming industry legislation.Having fantastic industry and sustainability knowledge is crucial for this role, as you will be bringing new ideas and embedding best practice across the business. You’ll also work with large data sets from multiple sources, to help inform greener procurement strategy.Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and informing the business around greener finishes, developments in production, freight etc – aligned to the Toolkit and other supporting materials.
  • Work closely with external suppliers to reduce emissions and setting targets to minimise environmental impact. Investigate progress, initiatives and verify data.
  • Regular carbon reporting and audits
  • Extend influence to external stakeholders, within publishing, to encourage innovation and drive action to meet global decarbonisation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal business areas, ensuring we are all working collectively and sharing best practice to meet our CO2 commitments.
  • Update the Toolkit and share this information with Production and internal stakeholders to drive behaviours.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A solid understanding of the environmental and ethical challenges within supply chains
  • The ability to communicate and influence effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Can manipulate complex data to so it is accessible and easy to navigate
  • Relevant experience of assessing materials and suppliers through a global supply chain
  • Passionate about sustainability and human rights
  • Works effectively and inclusively with a range of people, both within and outside of the organisation
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, and purpose to deliver on deadlines and projects, both independently and with others
  • Organised, and can prioritise multiple deadlines effectively
