One Data Streaming Platform.Data Connects Us.About the Role:The Flink experience as a developer is dominated largely by Java and SQL. There is a Python API in the form of Pyflink, but it is a little unloved, and exists largely as a wrapper around the Java API. The Flink & Python Team would be at the forefront of improving this experience for developers and data scientists. With a vision centered on making the Python experience of Flink first class, this team is driven towards opening up the power and capabilities of Flink to Python developers in a way that feels natural.What You Will Do:

• Bring your Python and data stream expertise to bear on making the Pyflink experience first-class
• Work with developers and stakeholders to identify and close feature and usability gaps between Python and other Flink APIs

What You Will Bring:

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems API design and development
• A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or other statically typed languages

What Gives You an Edge:

• A strong background data stream processing, particularly using PyFlink
• Experience with developer experience, tooling development, etc
