Our partner is an applied research center providing companies involved in technological innovation processes with numerical simulation methods and tools to invent and design more competitive products. To support the expanding research activities focusing on aero-mechanical turbomachinery applications, they are looking for a senior research engineer and offer a permanent contract.
Working on a daily basis on challenging projects with their clients and research partners.
These projects are often integrated in a multi/pluridisciplinary context that relies on a strong CFD-centric expertise, involving aerodynamic, aeroacoustic, aeroelastic, aeromechanical and/or aerothermal analyses.
Improving the aerodynamic performances of turbomachines while ensuring the mechanical integrity of the engine is a priority to reach new environmental regulations by 2050. In this context, the aeromechanical coupling will be of particular interest in the first activities of the candidate, with the enrichment of dedicated tools and methodologies for coupled aero-mechanical optimization.
Your aerodynamic expertise and skills will allow you to set up and further develop CFD/CSM simulation strategies that require complex meshing and/or efficient coupling methods.
You will be responsible for the technical progress as well as for the project management, in order to meet the clients’ expectations and in line with the Quality Management System (EN9100).
An aeronautical engineering master degree (or equivalent), with a PhD degree as a valuable asset
A solid background in numerical methods for CFD and/or CSM
A working experience (industrial or academic) of at least 4 years on CFD/CSM-centric projects
A strong affinity with turbomachinery design and an interest in optimization and data mining
A proficiency in different CFD and/or CSM software and pre/post processing tools scripting and programming experience (C++, Python, bash,…)
Excellent analytical skills and solution-oriented thinking capabilities
Autonomous working skills with an aptitude for team work
