The MSL Department serves as a critical component within the organization, focusing on enhancing patient care and outcomes through the dissemination of in-depth medical knowledge and support for Novo Nordisk Japan (NNPL) therapeutic strategies. This department is dedicated to building and communicating the most advanced medical insights to improve the medical benefits of the organization’s products. By aligning with NNPL policies and overarching medical ambitions, the MSL Department plays a pivotal role in driving patient-centered care and advancing the overall quality of medical outcomes.
The position
The Remote MSL actively fosters a deep scientific understanding of Novo Nordisk products, effectively communicating medical knowledge and clinical trial data to internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring consistent and accurate responses to competitive claims. Additionally, the Senior Remote MSL acts as a role model, coaching junior MSLs to enhance their technical competencies, supporting MSL management in training and orientation of newly hired MSLs, and serving as an ambassador for representing the MSL both internally and externally.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Engage and maintain relationships with KOLs and HCPs to enhance clinical care pathways and the appropriate usage of Novo Nordisk products, utilizing online interaction tools for communication.
- Gather medical insights from KOLs and HCPs to inform NNPL decision-making and update Medical and Marketing Strategies as needed.
- Participate in medical and scientific meetings to stay informed about current issues and new data related to NN and competitor products, supporting medical booths and answering scientific questions.
- Assist in developing speakers for marketed products, ensuring compliance with guidelines, policies, and legal requirements.
- Senior Remote MSL will be also providing leadership on scientific activities, support competence development of Remote MSLs, and contribute to planning and delivering presentations for national/regional scientific sessions.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in health sciences required, with a preference for a Doctorate in Medical or Pharmacy disciplines and a minimum of a master’s degree.
- Extensive experience in the respective therapeutic area is strongly preferred, demonstrated success in the MSL role required for Senior Remote MSL.
- Proficiency in mentoring, coaching, communication, and negotiation skills, with strong knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area preferred is required for the Senior Remote MSL role.
- Strong project management skills using virtual systems.
- Fluent level of Japanese and excellent English skills for reading and understanding scientific literature, along with fluency in written and spoken English strongly preferred.
