Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services Design – Bristol – Salary up to £60,000 DOEWant to work with a flourishing Building Services specific consultancy now looking to open a new office in Bristol?Looking to make the step up in terms of responsibility and recognition?If you’d like to work with a company that can offer you a wide range of projects and the chance to progress within the business, this is the role for you!About the business?With over 20 years establishing themselves in the Southwest, this independently owned and highly successful Building Services Design specific consultancy are looking for a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer.They are twice winners of the CIBSE Performance Awards for their work on low energy Passivhaus buildings and they work with nationally recognised architectural practices throughout the country. Some of their recent projects include low and zero-carbon buildings, residential schemes, repurposing and refurbishment of heritage buildings, and a new zoo.This consultancy is known for their fantastic staff retention, their quality engineering and work enjoyment. If you would like to bring back your love for engineering, this is the role for you! You could be working on local projects in a variety of sectors, working alongside a dynamic workforce of both maturing and experienced engineers. You will be a key part of the team, delivering engineering designs for buildings from concept level to completion and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.With their original office based not too far away, communication and movement between both offices will be necessary for successful completion of all projects. You will be supported in your new role so there is no need to worry about being left to your own devices without some guidance. You will be expected to work independently in your senior level role but not completely isolated!Responsibilities:
- Designing low carbon, sustainable mechanical systems for multiple projects at various stages
- Producing design drawings
- Participating in the preparation of reports and specifications
- Engaging with design teams and clients during the design phase of projects
- Monitoring progress on site, taking a leading role during commissioning and handover
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Supervising graduate and assistant engineers

What they require from the successful Senior Mechanical Engineer?
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in the Building Services Design sector
- The ability to use design packages such as IES, AutoCAD and Revit
- Mechanical Engineering or Building Services relevant degree
- Ideally chartered with the relevant Building Services accreditation or working towards this
- A passion for design and an interest in responding to the climate emergency by providing low carbon engineering solutions
- Outgoing and keen approach to personal development
