The Senior Operator, Production role is primarily responsible for the production of Dairy Starter Cultures so that they contribute to the growth and profitability of dsm-firmenich. The Senior Operator, Production works in a complex, mutable environment where the ability to coordinate the production schedule with variable growth times with all other activities is essential to success.

This includes, but is not limited to, operating processing equipment by making up raw materials into media, transferring, monitoring fermentation, harvesting and freezing cultures.

Your key responsibilities

• Ensure all SHE (Safety, Health & Environment)and all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Quality standards standards are maintained at all times

• Operate processing equipment by making up raw materials into media, transferring, monitoring fermentation, harvesting and freezing cultures

• Report to Production Supervisor when process deviations or process delays occur

• Actively ensure that Food Safety, HACCP and quality requirements are carried out as per company policies and procedures

• Shift work and weekend work as required to meet demand

• Raise SHE improvement opportunities

You bring

• Over 5 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing or related field

• Familiarity with MANUFEX and Lean Manufacturing

• Physically capable of bending, lifting and repetitive actions

• Understanding of HMI and PLCs

• Boiler operator

• Intermediate computer skills i.e. excel, word, power point, etc.
