Senior Health and Safety Consultant / PSDPOptimize Recruitment are proud to be partnering with our client, a leading company in engineering, consulting, and professional services, delivering innovative solutions across a variety of sectors. Our client, a prominent presence in Ireland, drives community development through impactful projects in buildings, water, aviation, energy, transportation, and rail and is currently seeking a Senior Health and Safety Consultant to join our growing Health & Safety Consulting team.In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to significant projects, providing expert safety advisory services and fulfilling key duties in compliance with regulations and best practices.The successful candidate will have:
- A relevant Health and Safety Degree/Diploma qualifying for IOSH membership or an Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Ireland, supplemented with post-qualification safety-specific training.
- Certificate of attendance at PSDP CPD training offered by Engineers Ireland/ACEI.
- Chartered membership of IOSH or Chartered Engineer status.
- More than 10 years of relevant experience in safety consulting, design safety, or construction safety.
- Strong knowledge of safety in design and construction legislation.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in bid preparation and the integration of health and safety requirements.
- Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies, enhance company culture, and refine safety systems.
- Skilled in report writing, time management, and prioritising tasks across multiple projects.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) in compliance with the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
- Providing expert advice to clients and design teams to ensure compliance with safety legislation and best practices.
- Coordinating residual risks and hazards during the design phase.
- Reviewing designs and designer risk assessments to meet health and safety legislation requirements.
- Attending design coordination meetings, site visits, and stakeholder discussions.
- Managing contractor safety, including reviewing contractor documentation.
- Supporting health and safety aspects of project bids and providing technical safety advice to projects of varying scale.
- Delivering general health and safety consultancy services to clients across diverse sectors.
- Developing and nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients to support business growth.
- Assisting in the improvement of safety culture within the organisation and participating in key safety initiatives.
- Managing project responsibilities, including budget and financial oversight.
- Ensuring adherence to quality assurance and environmental management policies.
