RSK Geosciences are recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Birmingham, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. • Completing and managing geotechnical projects through desk studies and ground investigation phases, through to the production of interpretive reports for projects in both the UK and overseas
• Design, supervision and management of ground investigation and construction works
• Earthworks design, specification and supervision/verification
• Cliff and slope stability inspections and remedial design
• Working knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction contracts and specifications

Qualification and Experience:

• BEng/Meng/BSc or equivalent in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Geology or related subject essential
• MSc in geotechnics/engineering geology or similar desirable but not essential
• Working towards chartership with either the Geological Society or ICE or another relevant professional body
• Demonstrable experience in the following:

• Preparation of geotechnical desk studies/geohazard assessments
• Designing, specifying, supervising and managing ground investigations
• Developing ground models and deriving geotechnical parameters
• Production of high quality interpretative reports, design reports and specifications
• Geotechnical analysis of foundations, slopes, earthworks, basements and retaining structures
• Experience of conducting desk studies and geohazard assessments for a large-scale linear infrastructure in the UK and/or internationally would be desirable
• Full UK drivers licence.
