Overview

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer for technology-driven email marketing firm

100% Remote / Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time with occasional travel to HQ

About the Role:

Alfa Wave is a boutique recruitment firm that partners with digital marketing and performance-driven companies across the US.  We are currently partnered with a top-tier email marketing firm entering an exciting phase of growth. Their high-impact engineering team develops proprietary tools and platforms that support domain health, email sending automation, and core internal systems that powers the entire business. They are seeking a confident Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who can contribute across the entire stack while playing an active role in design and architecture decisions. This is a small, fast-moving environment where engineers are expected to wear multiple hats, take ownership, and adapt quickly as priorities shift.

This role is ideal for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys variety, ownership, and helping shape technical direction within a modern environment. While the immediate focus is ramping up as a strong individual contributor, there is clear potential to grow into a technical lead over time. The stack includes Python/Django, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL databases (Postgres), and cloud infrastructure (primarily GCP). If you feel comfortable stepping into this stack and want to make an impact on a lean, high-performing team, read on for details:

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Build, maintain, and scale internal tools and proprietary platforms that support automation, data workflows, and email delivery operations.
  • Work across a modern stack: Python/Django, Golang, TypeScript, JavaScript, SQL databases (Postgres), and GCP cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with the existing engineering team and product manager to deliver against a shared product roadmap.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and design planning.
  • Contribute to cloud engineering initiatives including Kubernetes, serverless infrastructure, and scalable system design.
  • Own end-to-end development of new internal features and improvements, ensuring reliability, performance, and thoughtful engineering standards.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer working within an engineering team.
  • 2+ years working in a major cloud environment (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable).
  • Strong experience with Python (Django is a plus) and TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases (Postgres ideal).
  • Familiarity with cloud engineering best practices (service deployments, IaC, CI/CD, containerization).
  • Ability to think and communicate in terms of architecture, design patterns, and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, or serverless technologies.
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where responsibilities evolve.
  • Exposure to Go or additional backend languages is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Annual Base Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 (DOE)
  • Bi-Annual Bonuses based on company performance
  • Early Stage Equity (eligible after 90 days of employment)
  • Comprehensive Medical Benefits
  • 401k with company match
  • Generous PTO policy
  • Flexible work environment: ideally working East Coast hours with occasional travel to Boston/Cambridge (2–4 times per year) for team meetings.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented engineering team where you have direct ownership over internal infrastructure. If you enjoy the fast pace of a startup, don’t hesitate to apply with your resume today.
