To meet the growing demand for Accounting Services in EMEA, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people to join our team in Cork. We are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to join the expanding Statutory Reporting team.

The candidate will be an experienced accounting professional, who consistently exceeds expectations, thrives in a challenging workplace environment and will take on a key role in both the interim and year-end statutory reporting process.

This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Preparation of high-quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks
  • Preparation of statutory trial balances including management of relevant local GAAP adjustments
  • Supporting external audit process
  • Driving process improvement and automation to reduce manual effort
  • Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment of new product launches, projects and transactions
  • Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal
  • Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization
  • Supporting the on-boarding of new entities and activities, ensuring that all statutory requirements are identified and supported
  • Developing in depth knowledge of the AWS and Kuiper businesses
  • Oversight and submission of various statistical returns across EMEA geographies
  • Managing relationship with external service providers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with financial reporting and audit, preferably gained within a Big Four firm
  • Excellent communication skills with fluent English
  • Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • ACCA, ACA, CPA qualification
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user
