So far, a huge army of Severn Trenters have delivered over 1200 improvements, to cut spills in our region! It’s all part of our £2 billion investment over the next five years to protect and restore river health in our region. Our goal is to go further, recognising that engineering solutions are only part of this effort. Broader environmental measures and community collaboration are also vital to enhancing river healthDo you want to help protect and care for rivers and the environment?EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOWWe now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Communications and Engagement Manager to join the communications team and lead our stakeholder & engagement efforts around our official designated (Bathing Water) locations as well as those with high amenity value.We’ll look for you to coordinate efforts across the business to engage with as many river communities and stakeholders as possible, educating them about our work and commitments in their area. We believe in the power of collaboration, which is why you’ll be responsible for owning and nurturing important relationships with river campaigners and activists to help protect and enhance our precious water environments, as well as working with our team of River Rangers and our front line operations teams. And you’ll work with the wider communications team and be an integral part of our ‘Get River Positive’ (GRP) Communications and Engagement efforts.Key accountabilities include:-
- Owning and leading delivery of the river’s community engagement plan across the business;
- Within our GRP comms strategy be the comms go-to person for Bathing Waters, River-User groups and River Activists and lead on supporting and advising teams with communications and engagement;
- Work close with broader comms teams to ensure consistency of message for river leisure users in all communications;
- To protect and enhance Severn Trent’s reputation at all times;
- Ensuring a single brand strategy throughout all our communication channels.

You’ll be comfortable working at a senior level and equally happy standing on ariverbank, engaging with the community. We’ll also look for you to have previous experience in managing stakeholder and customer communication channels.
