Working arrangements: Candidates will work from Services Australia’s office with flexible working from home arrangements granted on a case by case basis.

Length of contract: 6 Months

Contract extensions: 6 months

Security clearance: Must have Baseline clearance

Rates: $140 – $170 per hour (inc. super)

Services Australia is seeking an Enterprise Architect to create and evolve architecture models and strategies that inform the design, development and evolution of business processes and supporting ICT systems. They manage, review and update domain architecture artefacts, including capabilities, reference architectures and patterns, for one or more architecture domains.

Senior Enterprise Architect Experts lead the creation and ongoing evolution of complex architectural models. They are responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on the delivery of architecturally significant technical projects and programs.

Enterprise Architect Experts design detailed aspects of an enterprise architecture and identify demand for new services, capabilities and technology to support evolving business needs.

Key duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • develop technology strategies based on emerging technologies, standards, innovation and industry trends in alignment with new and evolving business competencies.

  • review and determine impacts of proposals on current and future strategic directions and architectures.

  • develop architecture principles, standards and guidelines to achieve improvements and best practice in processes and procedures.

  • oversee the resolution or simplification of highly complex architectural issues.

  • define and drive projects and programs of work to realise architecture deliverables and outcomes.

  • define objectives and lead the investigation of innovative approaches to resolve architecture issues.

  • manage, evaluate and report on the outcomes and benefits of proof of concept projects to evaluate new technologies.

  • develop and manage key strategic relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • oversee and prepare a range of technical and corporate documentation and reports.

  • provide expert advice for the preparation of solution architectures and cost estimates for architecturally significant projects.

  • provide expert advice on the development of budgets and manage finances, contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure.

  • direct project teams to resolve non-conformance with architecture standards.

  • identify and commit to development opportunities for self and others.

  • exercise delegation in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • think critically and analytically to solve highly complex and sensitive problems

  • translate technical information for non-technical audiences

Primary Knowledge/Skills/Systems/Tools required for role include:

  • Specific knowledge in Data landscapes, integration, security applications and technical writing.

  • General architectural experience in government environments

  • Emerging technology issues and solutions

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated application security or data architecture domain skills and knowledge.

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience of technology architecture in government or a large complex organisation.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrated analysis and reporting skills

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically to solve highly complex and sensitive problems

  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice for the preparation of solution architectures and cost estimates for architecturally significant projects

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, understand linkages and develop long term plans

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically to solve highly complex and sensitive problems

  • Previous experience in implementation of major projects in government or a large complex organisation

  • Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
