Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.

Since 2011, Raytheon Australia have been contracted to deliver facilities services in support of the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia. Home to the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST), the C-Band Radar and Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio transmission capability, together these systems add a critical contribution to Australia’s space domain awareness and battlespace awareness missions.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a bright and energised Engineering Manager to join our inspired team on a 12-month contract.

This role is welcomed in Perth, Adelaide or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate an engineering team focused on designing capability upgrades to mission critical systems, ensuring clear communication and alignment among team members regarding project goals and individual responsibilities.

• Review and clarify the specific objectives and requirements of the defined tasks in collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project goals.

• Develop detailed project plans outlining the phases of the project, resource allocation, tasks dependencies, and milestones to ensure organised execution of tasks.

• Monitor team performance, providing coaching and feedback to enhance productivity, skills development, and motivation within the engineering team.

• Provide technical oversight and support to the engineering team, ensuring that solutions align with industry standards, best practices, and organisational goals.

• Identify potential risks associated with project tasks and develop risk mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively, minimising impacts on project timelines and outcomes.

• Effectively scope design tasks to identify skills, experience and labour requirements for project execution.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

• At least ten years of professional engineering (post-graduate) experience.

• Experience in Engineering and project-engineering management.

• Experience in leading a diverse range of technical disciplines and staff.

• Solid understanding of applicable contract and legislated requirements and the suitable application of technical specifications and standards.

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva .
