Senior Electronics Engineer – LimerickSalary: Very Competitive + API Bonus SchemeLocation: Limerick (4 days onsite, potential for 3 days after 3 months)Employment Type: PermanentAbout the RoleA leading company in medical technology is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join its team in Limerick. You will play a key role in designing cutting-edge surgical devices and pumps for end-of-life care. This is a critical hire, with the opportunity to lead two Junior Engineers and contribute to high-impact projects from concept to implementation.If you are passionate about analog and digital circuit design and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this role is for you. Medical device experience is not required, and the company is open to candidates from diverse industries.What You’ll Do

  • Lead circuit-level hardware design, component selection, and system integration.
  • Oversee PCB development, including schematic entry, board layout, and EMC compliance.
  • Work closely with software, mechanical, and system engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Develop firmware for embedded systems using I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and other industry standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations using FMEA tools.
  • Support technical design reviews, prototyping, and system testing.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to two Junior Engineers.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of experience in analog and digital circuit design (analog design is essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Strong expertise in microprocessor-based design, power management, and EMC testing.
  • Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout tools, and LabVIEW.
  • Experience with AC/DC and DC/DC converters, cable harnesses, and sensor interfaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solving technical challenges with a hands-on approach.
