Job Title: Senior Dietitian

Salary: €54,677 – €64,380 per annum (negotiable)Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a Senior Dietitian to join our client’s dynamic team.About Our Client:Their facility provides a comprehensive range of neuropsychiatric services to adults with serious and enduring mental health needs, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s Diseases, as well as individuals with early-onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. They are the only facility in Ireland offering specialised care for people with Huntington’s disease and provide specialist palliative care for individuals with mental health needs. Their approach is centred on creating a therapeutic environment through recovery-oriented clinical practices and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, enabling patients to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life. This care is delivered through a Multi-disciplinary Team.They operate a 123-bed in-patient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission. Their ethos honours the dignity of every person who enters their doors.Their team comprises over 200 multi-disciplinary members committed to delivering the highest standards of care in a friendly and inclusive workplace. They highly value their staff, support employee wellbeing, and promote a healthy work-life balance.Key Working Relationships:

  • Management and Dietetic colleagues.
  • Residents, their families, and carers.
  • Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues locally and nationally to ensure coordinated and integrated service provision.
  • Liaise with and build good working relations within the hospital and external mental health and neuro-disability service providers and related agencies.

Shift Pattern:

  • Full time, part-time hours also available
  • 37 hours per week

QualificationsEssential:

  • A recognised dietetic qualification and valid registration with CORU.
  • Two to three years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in adult neuro-disability and mental health dietetics.
  • Evidence of postgraduate continuing professional development relevant to a specialism within dietetics.

Desirable:

  • Experience in developing and facilitating training and intervention programmes.
  • Experience in coordinating and leading MDT and other meetings.
  • Research and audit skills.
  • Candidate Profile

Professional Knowledge:

  • Strong clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills, and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to apply specialist knowledge to best practice.
  • Experience with appropriate assessments and treatments for adults with complex mental health and neuro-disability needs.
  • Experience in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
  • Understanding of FEDS (Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing) needs in intellectual, neuro, and mental health disabilities.
  • Knowledge of nutritional issues in adults with neuro and mental health disabilities.
  • Awareness of the impact of disability on individuals and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and national policies.

Communication and Interpersonal:

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent report and presentation writing skill
