Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Database Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.Your tasks

• Assist in designing high performance, high availability database systems;
• Develop XML and SQL script-based procedures;
• Code the extract, transform, and load routines using PL/SQL and SQL Server Integration Services;
• Develop UNIX shell scripts and/or Windows batch files to facilitate in the extraction, movement, and loading of transactional data;
• Maintain and enhance existing Oracle-based UNICEF Data warehouse structures;
• Maintain SQL loader scripts uploading to the Oracle;
• Maintain product documentation, production configuration and technical documentation including logical and physical database designs, metadata, and production procedures;
• Regularly monitor database performance and tune it as needed.

Requirements

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• At least five years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL Programming;
• Experience in Data warehouse projects and requirements gathering;
• Experience in UNIX/LINUX shell scripting;
• Experience with integrating Oracle and Azure and SQL Server;
• Experience with creating database schemas and tablespaces;
• Excellent knowledge of Oracle internals and database tuning;
• Excellent knowledge of gap analysis and source to target mapping;
• Excellent command of the English language.
