The group serves customers in over 180 countries, maintains operations in over 40 countries, and employs approximately 21,400 people worldwide.Senior Controlling Analyst Tax & Accounting BelgiumWithin the Tax & Accounting division (TAA) the Senior Controlling Analyst is part of the European team, reporting to the controlling manager in Belgium. The European Tax & Accounting Team is based in Mechelen. The main focus of this function is to analyze and report financial and business KPI’s to support the TAA European management.As part of the European team, the Senior Controlling Analyst will be in close contact with the business and with peers (controllers of the individual country entities) and will be able to obtain a broad view of both the local results and understanding the Europe businesses. This understanding is crucial to analyze data and to complete the different reporting requirements from the division.The Senior Controlling Analyst ensures complete, timely and consistent reporting to management and the division. The analyst further supports the controlling manager in ad-hoc analyses and pro-actively helps optimizing the reporting in order to assist management in realizing their objectives.The monthly closing and consolidation process is performed using local Briljant ERP solution and Tagetik. Tagetik is a planning and consolidation system which has recently been implemented throughout Wolters Kluwer. The analyst plays a crucial role in following-up the monthly closing and is a linking pin between corporate, division and the local teams.As the Senior Controlling Analyst you have a solid financial background, strong analytical skills and have had a first experience in controlling or audit. You are eager to learn and are motivated to obtain in-depth knowledge of the Tagetik consolidation system to support the countries and management. You will be an active member of the Tax & Accounting Europe Finance Community, excellent communication skills and cultural awareness go without saying.Key responsibilities

  • Analyzing various information streams of the TAA Belgium entity, with ad hoc assistance to other group entities as required.
  • Providing support to the controlling manager in the budget- and forecasting processes
  • Helping with the monthly closing process and providing support to Belgian entities.
  • Close collaboration with local finance teams
  • Help consolidating and reporting the various business KPI’s (turnovers, margins, portfolio evolutions, churn, sales intake, costs)
  • Responsible for monthly reporting to division for the entity
  • Overseeing the local management entity from a cost perspective

Academic BackgroundA master’s degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent by experience is requested.Professional ExperienceMinimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position is required. Experience within Big 4 is a plus. The candidate has strong analytical skills and a good business mindset. Passion about realising reports and improvements is essential.LanguagesFluency in Dutch is preferred, as well as a very good knowledge of English.IT knowledgeA good general knowledge is necessary, especially in Excel. Knowledge of Tagetik or similar Corporate Reporting systems such as Cognos or Hyperion is an asset.What you can expect:
