The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising clients on a wide range of competition law matters, including merger control, antitrust investigations, and competition litigation. With a focus on delivering strategic advice and innovative solutions, the Senior Competition Associate will work closely with partners and clients to achieve their objectives and navigate complex regulatory challenges.Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on competition law issues, including merger control filings, antitrust investigations, and competition litigation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients in understanding and complying with competition laws and regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including submissions to competition authorities, memoranda, and client communications.
- Collaborate with partners and other team members to develop and implement innovative legal strategies.
- Represent clients in meetings with competition authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor developments in competition law and provide insights to clients on potential implications for their businesses.
- Mentor junior associates and provide guidance on complex competition law matters.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in competition law.
- Strong academic background, with a law degree from a reputable institution.
- Extensive knowledge of EU and international competition law principles and regulations.
- Proven experience advising clients on merger control, antitrust investigations, and competition litigation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills, particularly French or Dutch, would be advantageous.
