Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnering:

  • Builds strategy with key stakeholders and holds accountability to joint outcomes.

  • Pre-empts and embeds stakeholder perspectives into all key decision making.

  • Challenges and questions their own and their stakeholder perspective maintaining both an open mind and the Finance perspective.

  • Showcases the courage and strength to disagree with stakeholders and hold the line where required whilst maintaining relationships.

  • Seeks, influences and leverages stakeholders to gain support for decisions.

  • Through trust and relationship management be actively sought out to Co-pilot and partner with stakeholders to come up with joint decisions.

  • Build networks within SSP as well as external stakeholder groups.

  • Role models behaviours, anticipates issues and leads/coach others.

Business Planning, budgeting, and Forecasting:

  • Accountable for your franchise’s weekly agenda process including stakeholder alignment.

  • Drive the end-to-end forecasting and budgeting process across your Franchise.

  • Lead the translation of Budget into Business Units Quota’s and Regional P&L’s and hold stakeholders’ accountable.

  • Proactively partners with stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities, mitigate risks and solve problems.

  • Co-ordinate and drive the preparation of the Franchises 5-Year Strategic Plan

  • Build networks within SSP as well as external stakeholder groups and include these additional perspectives as context when shaping messaging.

  • Combine all information and perspectives to build a cohesive picture from which to gain insights and trends and filters and structures the information so it is communicated at an appropriate level.

  • Crafts and recommends solutions and narratives to be used across teams and situations, pre-empting potential questions and challenges.

Performance Management:

  • Overview and accountability of the full P&L and all key performance management processes, KPIs, performance reporting and financial presentations for your franchise.

  • Analysis of monthly Sales and P&L and influence of key stakeholders to achieve both financial and non-financial metrics.

  • Identify business levers, influence resource allocation decisions, and help drive implementation of these in your focus area to achieve financial outcomes.

  • Drive financial performance reporting to ensure the correct business conversations results from reports provided.

  • Partners cross functionally and challenges process, norms and thinking to drive and unlock P&L opportunities in the short and long term across SSP.

  • Connect business processes to B/S and cashflow outcomes and advise stakeholders on possible actions to achieve desired cashflow results

  • Proactively shares best practice and learning with peers.

Decision Support:

  • Builds strategic partnerships and understanding of key drivers behind investment decisions and leverages to provide informed advice and challenge.

  • Initiates, takes accountability, and drives investment appraisal reviews, business cases and prealignment/approval processes.

  • Pre-empts questions, risks and concerns from a financial and business perspective not limited to their functional area.

  • Benchmarks investment decisions, conducts post investment analysis and leverages learning to future appraisals.

  • Ensure margin considerations are factored into sales deals and commercial agreements.

  • Support with ad-hoc analysis to drive intelligent decision making and continuous improvement.

  • Generates ideas and highlight opportunities to enhance sales and business performance.

Projects & Change Management:

  • As identified in line with organisational goals.

  • Helps lead and direct Franchise specific projects and initiatives.

  • Helps lead and direct Business wide strategic initiatives.

  • Helps lead and direct Strategic projects and initiatives e.g. Continuous improvement.

  • Leans in and proactively supports the business in driving initiatives forward.

Team:

  • Lead, coach and development of direct reports.

  • Help drive and mentor the education and training across the finance team.

  • Lead the Development of financial acumen across the Franchise you support.

  • Active Senior leader in Finance focused on talent management and people leadership.

  • Accountable for team coverage, recruitment, talent planning and support.

Direct Reports (if any):

  • 2-3 direct reports – SA/CM level.

Desirable Requirements (eg: skills, experience, qualifications):

  • CA/CPA qualified.

  • Intermediate to advanced excel knowledge with the ability to leverage key formulas, tools, and shortcuts to analyse and provide insights on data efficiently and effectively.

  • Able to create basic to intermediate power BI reporting and models.

Other requirements (e.g.: travel, on-call responsibilities):

  • Travel when required
