This critical role involves leading our Bid Team in the production of high-quality tender proposals that align with our business goals. The Senior Bid Manager will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth strategy, ensuring the delivery of compelling, customer-focused bids that contribute to our success in securing new contracts.As part of the Irish Leadership Team, the Senior Bid Manager will also be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our bidding process, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, and driving best practices across the bid function.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the bid writing team, ensuring the development and retention of top talent within the team.
  • Oversee the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all submissions are completed on time, and to the highest standard.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Bid Team, driving innovation and efficiency in bid production.

Bid Strategy and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development and Business Development team to develop and implement the bid strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality, winning bid proposals, including the management of bid documentation, content development, and compliance with client requirements.
  • Ensure that all bids are customer-focused, clearly articulating Mitie’s value proposition and differentiators.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, Legal, and Marketing, to gather the necessary information and insights for bid submissions.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring their input and expertise are integrated into the bid process.
  • Engage with external partners and subcontractors to develop collaborative bid responses when required.

Participation in the Irish Leadership Team:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Mitie Ireland as a member of the Irish Leadership Team.
  • Provide insights and recommendations proposal innovation, market trends, and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Leadership Team to drive the overall growth and success of the business.

Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:

  • Implement best practices in bid management, including the use of bid management tools, templates, and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of bid strategies and processes, making adjustments as necessary to improve win rates.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to inform bid strategies.

About You:

  • Proven experience in bid management within a similar industry, with a track record of leading successful bids.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working at a senior level, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with the facilities management or related sectors is desirable.
