Joining at this point of our journey means you will be making a big impact on the ways that we develop and execute.The team and our technology stackWe’re a team of 30+ engineers who are working to build a world class engineering culture, so that everyone who joins has the opportunity and the support to do some of the best work of their life. Small and autonomous teams are important to us, and we want to empower everyone to make and be accountable for their decisions through ownership, whilst fostering an environment where everyone can learn and grow from mistakes (we are human, we all make them!). \nHere are the main pieces of technology and tools that we are currently using:

  • Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and Redis for our Medical Platform.
  • Ruby, Rails, RSpec, PostgreSQL, Redis and Memcached for our web API services.
  • Node.js, Vue.js with Vuex and Nuxt.js, ES6, SCSS, Jest (and a bit of Cypress) and Webpack for our website.
  • Git, GitHub, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions for our code and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Heroku and Cloudflare for our infrastructure.
  • Google Pub/Sub as a messaging service.
  • Sentry, New Relic, and Grafana and for monitoring.
  • Jira for keeping us on track.

You’ll be:

  • Working in the Medical Platform team, designing, implementing, maintaining, scaling and deploying the core of our business.
  • Instrumental in building a health platform that helps people take better care of themselves.
  • Hands-on with coding, best practices, appropriate tools and technologies.
  • Designing domain models and business flows to implement new product features or 3rd party integrations and automation.
  • Refactoring code and automating end-to-end testing suites.
  • Mentoring, helping and guiding less experienced colleagues to grow as engineers.
  • Working with people from other business functions in clarifying requirements at the onset of projects and suggesting different and relevant technical approaches.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a strong backend engineer with experience in web development with Python.
  • Has strong commercial experience in relational and non-relational databases.
  • Is well versed in designing and developing web APIs.
  • Has excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Cares deeply about system health and maintainability, with a passion for good engineering habits and best practices.
  • Takes initiatives, is able to work independently, and owns all aspects of their work.
  • Has solid communication skills and is able to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with remote team members.
  • Takes pride in their work and is always looking to improve, not settling for average.
  • Wants to work for a brand with a purpose.
