Senior AWS Platform Architect – Defence/SC ClearedLocation: Cheltenham – up to 4 days per week onsite in CheltenhamSalary: £110,000-£130,000Defence/SC Clearance Requirements:Cloudscaler work with highly-secure private defence and government customers on mission-critical programmes of work. This means that these positions require frequent onsite presence. It also means that SC clearance is required. Upon joining Cloudscaler we will undertake SC clearance checks so you must be eligible to pass SC clearance. For us, this means experience of designing and operating enterprise-scale landing zones within AWS. It also means you need an understanding of the key security risks that are present when operating workloads within AWS and how to design a best practice landing zone to mitigate these risks.We are thought leaders, so our Architects need to be opinionated about IaC structure and modularisation, controls and guardrails, network patterns, and how to architect appropriate and scalable Cloud solutions with the ability to assess trade-offs with design options.What you’ll be doingYou will be working closely with our customers’ key stakeholders, designing and providing the technical governance over the delivery of significant workloads on the cloud.You will be defining the infrastructure, network, and security design, along with the design of platform tooling services, and will set the technical standards that define what good looks like for all services, putting checks in place to ensure compliance.

  • Understanding complex requirements and designing secure, scalable and resilient platforms on AWS
  • Designing and providing the technical governance over the delivery of significant workloads on the cloud
  • Architecting complex systems and platforms, enabling them to run seamlessly at scale, including defining the infrastructure, network, and security design
  • Designing solutions to prevent, detect and remediate key security risks that are present when using AWS
  • Setting the technical standards that define what good looks like for all services and put checks in place to ensure their compliance
  • Designing and delivering workloads using a wide range of AWS services including; AWS Organizations, CloudTrail, SecurityHub, GuardDuty, IAM and IAM Identity Center
  • Providing technical leadership to cross-functional teams, defining technical direction and strategy of teams and systems

Interview Process * Screening call with our Talent Acquisition team

  • 1st Interview – 30 minute remote interview with our hiring team
  • 2nd Interview – 60 minute remote technical interview with members of our engineering team
  • 3rd Interview – 60 minute in person interview with members of our Senior Leadership Team
