This is what #LifeAtBNY is all about.We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Data Scientist to join our AI Hub Engineering team. This role is located in Dublin, Ireland and will be working in a hybrid capacity. (3 days a week in the office).In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Develop AI/ML and Generative AI / LLM models to address challenging and impactful business problems for BNY, from proof of concepts to production-level deliverables, and produce thorough model evaluation and documentation in order to support decision and assess model risk
• Define, create and maintain actionable insights using data science and statistical assessment. Prepare analysis to provide business decision-supporting facts
• Thoroughly evaluate models and produce supporting documentation, thoroughly assess analysis results to ensure correct business decision-supporting
• Develop innovative solutions and produce patent disclosures to demonstrate RD&I
• Collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts (SME) to obtain data and domain knowledge needed to conduct advanced reviews.
• Continuously support and develop skills across AI/ML and GenAI and increase the business acumen
• Stay up to date with the latest advances in AI/GenAI, technology innovations and banking industry trends. Share the findings with the team, recommend areas for improvement, and promote adoption of AI tools and platforms.
• Be proactive and autonomous in solving problems, demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and urgency

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• PhD’s degree in STEM degrees, or equivalent work experience with experience preferred in related fields (experience in financial data review is a plus)
• Good understanding of applied data science, ML, NLP (e.g. feature engineering, supervised/unsupervised learning, predictive analytics, clustering, anomaly detection, sentiment analysis, entity recognition), and GenAI/LLM
• Strong and proven hands-on experience implementing solutions (e.g. Python, scikit-learn, pandas, keras, TensorFlow/PyTorch, GPT models)
• Strong communication skills (presenting, writing) and highly collaborative mindset
• Innovative mindset and creative thinking demonstrated by publications and patents
