G4S Secure Solutions Ire are seeking a vigilant, reliable, and professional Night Security Officer to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding our client’s premises, assets, personnel, and visitors during night hours. This role is critical in maintaining a secure environment through active presence, diligent monitoring, and consistent patrolling. A key responsibility of this position is the completion of comprehensive hourly patrols to ensure the integrity of the site.
Kay Responsibilites:
Hourly Patrols: Conduct thorough and documented foot patrols of the entire site, both internally and externally, at least once every hour. Check for signs of intrusion, unlocked doors, security breaches, fire hazards, water leaks, and other potential threats.
Access Control: Manage all out-of-hours access to the site, verifying credentials and maintaining a detailed log of all visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
Monitoring: Operate and monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, and other security equipment to detect and respond to any unusual activity.
Incident Response: Act as the first responder to all alarms and emergencies on-site. Assess situations quickly and take appropriate action in line with company procedures, including contacting Gardaí, the fire brigade, or other emergency services.
Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs of all activities, observations, and incidents. Prepare clear and concise incident reports for management.
Health & Safety: Ensure a safe environment by identifying and reporting any health and safety risks. Adhere to all site-specific safety protocols.
Client Communication: Provide a professional and courteous security presence, interacting with any late-night staff or authorised visitors in a helpful manner.
Lock-up & Unlock Procedures: Perform secure lock-up and/or opening procedures for the facility as required.
What We’re Looking For:
PSA Licence: Valid PSA Security Guarding license
Screening and vetting: 5 Years of verifiable employment and personal activity
Relevant experience: A minimum of 3 years security experience
First Aid Trained
Knowledge of health & safety regulations
Experience with a modern access control system

Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting incidents or speaking with the public. Active listening skills to understand instructions and respond appropriately.
Conflict Resolution: Calm demeanor to defuse tense situations and avoid escalation. Ability to mediate disputes and find peaceful resolutions.
Customer Service Skills: Friendly, professional approach when interacting with visitors, employees, or clients. Ability to provide assistance and answer questions politely.
Emergency Response: Knowledge of emergency procedures, including first aid, CPR, and evacuation plans. Ability to stay composed in high-stress or crisis situations.
Report Writing: Ability to document incidents, write clear and concise reports, and maintain records. Understanding of legal and company-specific reporting standards.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with security systems such as alarms, CCTV cameras, and access control systems. Basic understanding of office software for report generation and communication.
Surveillance and Monitoring: Proficient in using surveillance equipment and monitoring software to detect suspicious activity. Ability to monitor and control access points and secure areas.
Problem-Solving: Quick thinking in emergency situations to assess risk and take appropriate action. Ability to identify and mitigate security threats proactively.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other security officers, law enforcement, or emergency services. Ability to work in team-based environments to ensure overall safety.
Attention to Detail: Ability to notice minor details that might indicate a larger security threat. Consistent attention to routine tasks to ensure ongoing security.
Crisis Management: Ability to remain calm and take charge in high-pressure situations. Skill in managing evacuations, handling crowd control, and coordinating with authorities.
Time Management: Efficiently balancing patrolling duties, monitoring, and administrative tasks. Managing multiple tasks and prioritizing when necessary. These skills help security officers ensure safety and respond appropriately to any potential threat or emergency.
