SummaryThe Platform team is based in Dublin, Ireland. Our focus is on the development of infrastructure, frameworks, tooling, and technology in support of FINEOS applications and our cloud-hosting service.As a Scrum Master in FINEOS, in addition to your team facilitator and guardian of the agile ceremonies and practices responsibilities, you understand the technical aspects of work being performed by the scum team and the inter-dependencies between the technical tasks to deliver the defined user stories against the definition of done. Our Scrum Masters work closely and collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, agile development managers, architects, developers, testers, analysts, business and technical consultants as well as other cross functional team members. You will participate in design, implementation, influencing architectural decisions, innovation and proposing improvements while also line managing, mentoring and coaching team members.Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Facilitate one or more Scrum teams, who are responsible for software delivery against the definition of done.
- Provide technical and people leadership across a multi-functional team, ensuring readiness of all aspects of our software releases in line with the SDLC process and against our internal standards.
- Undertake line management, performance appraisals, identifying skill gaps, mentoring and coaching as required.
- Facilitate internal/external communication and effective collaboration
- Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it
- Identify, deliver and drive improvements and innovations within Platform
- Although this is intended as a full-time Scrum Master role, your willingness and ability to
engage hands-on in work within the team will be great asset.
- Build software using the latest technologies that are used by all of FINEOS’ engineering teams.
- Gain full Software Development Lifecycle experience as you develop solutions from end-to-end including internal infrastructure right through to cloud delivery.
- Gain exposure to latest cloud technologies.
- Provide guidance on best practices and participate in peer review of designs, code, and tests.
- Promote and live the FINEOS values and increase positive relations with team, customers, prospects, and partners.
Education and/or Experience
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field with 3+ years of hands-on experience, preferably on Enterprise-scale systems.
- 2+ years of technical leadership/coordination, preferably as scrum master or equivalent role.
- Line Management Experience including performance appraisals of direct reports.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Natural leadership & negotiation skills with a focus on driving results.
- Demonstrate an understanding of full software development and release life cycles.
- Great collaboration, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and succeed when not measured by individual output but the output of an entire team.
Technical Skills
- Good coding skills (Java, Node JS/TypeScript) and are familiar with Object-Oriented programming and application of design patterns.
- Proficiencies with some of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, React, JSON
- Experience/exposure to AWS or other Cloud technologies is desirable
- You have experience with Application Servers (e.g. JBoss, Tomcat)
- You have experience with RDBMS systems (e.g. Oracle)
- Exposure to Continuous Integration and build automation tools with proficiency in some or all of the following: Gradle, Git, Jenkins, CDK
- Multi-platform skills (Linux/Windows) would be an advantage.
- Solid foundation of QA methodology, testing techniques, frameworks, and approaches.
Language Skills
- Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.

Work Requirements
